It is always a little tricky to ‘divide’ things in my ‘monthly newness’ posts in terms of what I share with everyone and what I share with my paid Substackers. For me writing is not a pragmatic, but an emotional outlet, driven by things, people or situations I want to share with my community. While I understand that is you are new to my Substack and need to figure out if you enjoy or derive benefit from being part of my community before moving to a paid subscription - or not - I do sometimes wonder why people who are free subscribers and read me regularly don’t want to pay for my work. The cost is less than two cups of coffee a month, yet I hear all kinds of reasons. Ultimately it is also a litmus test of relationships and sends a very clear signal about genuine support from those of you who do pay to read what I write. And I always appreciate support and never take it for granted because being an independent journalist or writer is bloody hard. Enough of reflecting on my part, let’s dive into the beautiful extras I am quite excited to share with you!
