Hammam bathhouse, motherhood and Mediterranean culture underpin this Formula Botanica graduate skincare range
I have been championing niche skincare brands from around the world for many years, as they are generally the ones that bring innovation to beauty marketplace and often force large conglomerates to change or adapt their practises, leading the way when it comes to ethical practises and engagement with the customers on a deeper, more personal level. Today I want to introduce you to Ikram Elharti, US-based Formula Botanica graduate and founder of Sahara Rose Skincare.

Ikram Elharti: SAHARA ROSE was born during a period of profound change, marked by the joys and challenges of new motherhood. My skin, like many of new mothers, faced extreme dehydration during the time, igniting a passionate drive to develop a skincare line that not only addressed the unique needs of new mothers, but resonated with women navigating the delicate balance of motherhood.
The journey deepened when I moved to the USA. Despite the excitement of this new chapter, I found myself yearning for the self-care rituals and pampering practices intrinsic to Mediterranean cultures. The acts of sipping tea, relaxing, and indulging in lush skincare at the local "Hammam” bathhouse, deeply rooted in my upbringing, became cherished memories. Recreating that holistic well-being in my new environment became a mission.
